1. Sock Monkey History

In the 1900's mother's started crafting these socks into sock monkey toys for their children.  Though originally intended as a rugged work sock, these frugal, crafty toys quickly caught on, and in 1920 Nelson Knitting Mills started including directions for sock monkeys with every pair.  Nelson Knitting Mills was purchased by Fox River Mills in 1992, but they still carry on the tradition and include the original directions with every pair of Red Heel socks.

2. Sock Monkey Purpose.

According to some history it was good luck to give a new born baby a sock .monkey and to give the baby a life long promise of love and happiness. So enrich the life of a baby and give the the loved gift of a sock monkey.
